Quicken ExpensAble to Support Palm Computing Platform
SUNNYVALE, Calif. — January 18, 1999 — On The Go Software, publisher of Quicken ExpensAble, the number one selling expense reporting software, today announced that an agreement has been reached with LandWare, Inc. to develop a version of ExpensAble that supports the Palm Computing(R) platform. The product will be designed to synchronize with the desktop version of Quicken ExpensAble 98 via Palm Computing's HotSync(R) function.
"With the number of Palm Pilot/III users now over three million, Quicken ExpensAble gives the Palm customers an excellent opportunity to use a well-known expense management system," said Dr. J. Gerry Purdy, President and CEO of Mobile Insights, Mt. View, California. "This allows the traveling professional to save time and relieve frustration when managing business expenses."
ExpensAble's friendly user interface makes it the popular choice of business travelers. Professionals on the go can easily capture expense-related information when and where it occurs: at the airport, during a cab ride, or in a downtown restaurant. Quicken ExpensAble 98, the desktop counterpart, links to Intuit's Quicken and QuickBooks products, so that expense-related information can be automatically included in broader financial reporting.
Gabriel Acosta Lopez, director, platform development services for Palm Computing, Inc., a 3Com company, said, "Palm Computing customers typify the busy mobile professional, and ExpensAble solves one of their most pressing requirements; reconciling the multitude of receipts and various expenses that are an inevitable part of doing business on the road."
LandWare's President Ken Landau remarked that, "Our partnership with On The Go Software for the development of Quicken ExpensAble for the Palm Computing platform reflects LandWare's commitment to bring popular software titles to the mobile professional."
"LandWare is a leading developer for the Palm platform, and we consider our partnership with LandWare an important part of our business strategy to bring a complete expense management solution to the mobile professional," added Ken Grunzweig, president and CEO of On The Go Software.
