Sales Vision Announces Support For 3Com’s Palm Computing Devices

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — April 19, 1999 — Sales Vision, Inc., the industry's exclusive provider of an all-Java, Internet-based customer relationship management (CRM) solution, announces the release of a conduit that synchronizes CRM information between Jsales(TM), Sales Vision's flagship product, and 3Com's Palm Computing(R) connected organizers. Sales Vision's Palm Computing conduit enables Jsales users to automatically coordinate contacts, calendar/activities, and to do items on both their laptops and their Palm Computing devices.

"3Com is pleased to see Sales Vision, a leading CRM vendor, has integrated Jsales with the Palm Computing platform. This will help mobile sales professionals stay connected and on top of pertinent customer data," said Gabriel Acosta-Lopez, director of platform development services for Palm Computing, Inc., a 3Com company.

Both Jsales and the Palm(TM) conduit utilize Sales Vision's unique Internet-based architecture. For Sales Vision clients, this enhancement translates into applications that are 100 percent database and business model independent. The conduit co-exists with the standard Palm Computing conduits and works with HotSync(R) Manager 2.0+ to support handheld devices running Palm OS 2.x and 3.0. Sales Vision's Palm Computing conduit uses JDBC, which provides superior flexibility when connecting to a local database on a laptop or to an enterprise database accessible through either the corporate Intranet or over the Internet.

Driven by an easy-to-use, wizard-style graphical user interface, Sales Vision's conduit synchronizes activities, contacts, and to do items from within the Jsales application with the Palm Computing platform's built-in Date Book, Address Book, and To Do List. On the handheld device, the conduit files all entries into a separate Jsales category so that the user can easily differentiate CRM data from personal and other business information. The conduit supports complete bi-directional synchronization and allows business rule processing so that the user can apply custom logic and maintain data integrity.

"Sales Vision's integration with Palm Computing connected organizers provides true mobility to end users because it synchronizes data over the Internet. Users can instantly update and download information from Jsales to their Palm Computing device and vice versa," said Sales Vision's Vice President of Product Development, Robert Kear. "This conduit elevates Sales Vision and Jsales to a new level of enterprise-class mobile computing."

Currently available, the Palm Computing conduit is a free added feature offered with any customized Jsales application.
