Puma Technology Introduces New Version of Intellisync Software for the Palm Computing Platform and Windows CE

SAN JOSE, Calif. — October 4, 1999 — Having identified the need for mobile professionals to gain access to critical data in key corporate messaging platforms, Puma Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:PUMA) now offers e-mail support for the top three groupware messaging applications with the introduction of its Intellisync Version 3.6 software for Palm Computing platform and Windows CE devices. Puma is helping to fuel the standardization on handheld devices by corporations through the addition of Novell GroupWise 5.5.2 Mail synchronization support. Intellisync 3.6 now syncs e-mail, calendar, contact and task data between Palm Computing platform devices and Novell GroupWise, Microsoft Outlook/Exchange, and Lotus Notes. In addition, Intellisync 3.6 provides Windows CE users with complete synchronization support for Microsoft Outlook/Exchange and Lotus Notes, and synchronization of calendar, contact, and task data for Novell GroupWise.

In addition to providing comprehensive synchronization support for the top three groupware messaging applications, Intellisync 3.6 now supports the top two handheld device platforms — Palm Computing and Windows CE — with a single package. Intellisync 3.6 for the Palm Computing platform and Windows CE is available on both the company's website at www.pumatech.com and at computer retail stores nationwide for the same price of $ 69.95. Owners of previous versions of Intellisync for the Palm Computing platform and Intellisync for Windows CE devices may upgrade to the new version for $ 34.95.

"With corporations standardizing on handhelds like Palm Computing platform and Windows CE devices, they are turning to Puma to give their employees access to key corporate information at all times," said Puma President and CEO Brad Rowe. "The growing popularity of handhelds in the corporate marketplace reflects the fact that professionals are finally able to utilize mobile devices as true work productivity tools."

Extending Novell Groupwise Support With Mail Synchronization

In addition to its integrated e-mail support for Microsoft Outlook 97/98/2000, Exchange, and Lotus Notes 4.5/4.6, Intellisync now adds support for importing, exporting and synchronizing e-mail messages between Palm Computing platform devices and Novell GroupWise 5.5.2. With Intellisync, GroupWise users can manage their e-mail, for example, by applying filters to restrict which e-mail messages are synchronized, or by mapping to multiple folders. All major e-mail components of the Palm Computing platform are supported including inbox, outbox, filed and draft folders.

Intellisync's Enhanced Feature Set

New in Intellisync Version 3.6 is support for Microsoft Outlook Custom Forms. In addition to supporting the basic Appointments, Tasks, and Contacts forms, Intellisync now works with customized forms that are created using the standard form templates within Outlook. When users create a Custom Form, they can also choose from many standard Outlook fields or create their own. Intellisync allows users to map the supported fields that are included on the form.

The new version of Intellisync will also continue to provide a powerful synchronization solution enabling consumers to keep their most important information, including calendars, e-mail, contacts, and tasks, constantly up-to-date between Palm Computing platform and Windows CE devices and the broadest range of PC applications. Version 3.6 builds on Puma Technology's patented Data Synchronization Extensions Technology (DSX Technology(R) engine), offering advanced capabilities like full conflict resolution, field mapping and filtering to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Version 3.6 of Intellisync for the Palm Computing platform and Windows CE supports Microsoft Outlook 97/98/2000, Microsoft Schedule+ 7.0/7.0a/7.5, Microsoft Exchange 5.0/5.5, Lotus Organizer 2.12/97/GS/4.1/5.0, Lotus Notes 4.5/4/6, Novell GroupWise 5.2/5.5, GoldMine 3.2/4.0, ON Technology Meeting Maker 5.03/5.5, Symantec ACT! 3.0.8/4.0/4.0.1/4.02, SalesLogix 3.0, and ASCII.
