Ink Development Pen Software for AT&T EO Personal Communicator will be Sold on SunDisk Flash Storage Cards

NEW YORK — June 30, 1993 — SunDisk Corp. and Ink Development Corp. Wednesday signed an agreement under which Ink's notetaking application, InkWare NoteTaker, for the AT&T EO 440 Personal Communicator will be sold on SunDisk flash storage cards at select AT&T Phone Centers.

The announcement was made at the PC EXPO trade show where SunDisk storage cards are being demonstrated on EO communicators and on numerous other mobile systems.

This is the first time that software has been sold on SunDisk solid-state memory cards and the agreement marks SunDisk's entry into a potentially large and lucrative new market.

Leon Malmed, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for SunDisk, said, "Mobile computer users can now get Ink's highly acclaimed note taking software for pen-based computers on the world's most rugged and reliable storage device. Our FLASHDISK cards, which are removable and interoperable between systems and are also 100 percent DOS and Windows compatible, will give owners of the AT&T EO Personal Communicator a secure method for transferring multiple files to a variety of computing platforms."

Will Poole, vice president of sales and marketing for Ink Development, said, "This agreement will bring the benefits of InkWare NoteTaker to the growing number of users with AT&T EO Personal Communicators. After using NoteTaker, for example, to write memos, faxes or electronic mail notes, the user could easily remove the SunDisk card for security reasons or insert it into a desktop PC or another portable computer."

The SunDisk/Ink Development software card combination will initially be sold in about 55 of AT&T's 400 Phone Centers. The application will be sold on a 2.5MB SDP model SunDisk flash card. The card and software will be priced at $199, a savings of approximately $300 off the combined list prices of the two products. This special promotional price will be offered for a limited time for limited quantities.

The AT&T EO 440 Communicator, which provides fax, electronic mail, cellular phone and personal computing capabilities, went on sale this month at select AT&T Phone Centers and is available from authorized EO resellers. InkWare NoteTaker, the industry's first note taker for pen computers, is advanced software for notetaking, sketching, writing faxes and organizing free-form information.
