ST. LAURENT, QUEBEC — May 31, 1995 — Metrowerks' (ME, VSE – MWK) Board of Directors approved today the following results for the third quarter ended April 30, 1995:

Revenue for the third quarter ended April 30, 1995 totaled $ 1,796,000 compared to $ 1,042,000 for the same period last year. Sales increased 73% in Q3 (FY95) vs. Q3 (FY94) due to the strong popularity of Metrowerks CodeWarrior, the company's flagship programming language software product. Revenue for the nine month period ended April 30, 1995 totaled $ 4,566,000 compared with $ 1,460,000 for the same period last year.
Net earnings amounted to $ 126,000 ($ 0.02 per share on a fully diluted basis) compared with net earnings of $ 33,000 ($ 0.01 per share on a fully diluted basis) for the third quarter of the previous year. This is the fifth consecutive profitable quarter for the company. Net earnings for the nine month period ended April 30, 1995 amounted to $ 191,000 ($ 0.02 per share on a fully diluted basis) compared with a net loss of $ 695,000 ($ 0.08 per share on a fully diluted basis) for the same period last year.
"Metrowerks has the lion's share of the programming language software market for the Power Macintosh. We now have over 18,000 registered users in 55 countries" said Greg Galanos, President and CEO of Metrowerks. He stated that the objective of entrenching the Power Macintosh/CodeWarrior solution as the host development environment of choice for cross-platform development for Intel and other processor architectures was well underway with the launch, on May 8, 1995, at the Apple WorldWide Developers Conference, of Win32 and Windows NT application code generators running in native mode on Power Mac as well as Magic Cap development tools.
The Company announced that it has granted 22,500 incentive stock options to employees at a price of $ 6.25 per share, exercisable on or before June 1, 2000, subject to regulatory approvals.
Founded in 1985, Metrowerks develops and sells PowerPC-hosted computer language products for building Mac OS, Windows, and Magic Cap applications.
