Metrowerks Adds to Senior Management Team; Harold Lotz Named Vice President, International Sales

AUSTIN, Texas — October 1, 1998 — Metrowerks, Inc., (NASDAQ:MTWKF, TSE/ME:MWK) today announced the appointment of Harold Lotz as vice president of international sales. "We are very pleased to have Mr. Lotz head up our international sales department," said Jean Belanger, chief executive officer, Metrowerks. "He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record that will serve to enhance the growth of our international market. He will be a valuable asset to the Metrowerks' team." Lotz brings with him over 26 years of sales and marketing experience. Before joining Metrowerks, he worked as the vice president of sales for Memotec Communications, a Canadian communication networking products company, where his achievements include almost doubling European and Latin American sales during his tenure.

Prior to Memotec, Lotz served as the vice president of worldwide sales for ACT Networks, Inc; a California-based integrated networking company. There he is credited with having increased sales in the USA, Europe, Pacific/Asia and Latin-America some 40 percent in his first 12 months with the company. He began his senior management career as the president and chief executive officer of Micro Tempus Inc., a cross-platform data management company headquartered in Montreal, Quebec.

Previously, he held sales and marketing positions with Kodak, Wang Laboratories and IBM. Lotz received a diploma from the Academy for International Trade in Frankfurt, Germany. He speaks English, French, German and Portuguese.
