Metrowerks Opens Software Development Lab in India; Noida, India, Site Focuses on Software Development Technology
AUSTIN, Texas — October 24, 2000 — Continuing its rapid growth and geographic expansion since being acquired by Motorola a year ago, Metrowerks has opened a new development lab in Noida, a township of New Delhi, India.
The lab consists of 25 engineers working on CodeWarrior(R) software development tools and related technologies.
"The Noida, India, facility not only expands our geographic reach, it provides us access to a wealth of technical talent," said David Perkins, president and CEO, Metrowerks. "Our plan is to grow this site through aggressive hiring in 2001."
The lab is dedicated to developing core Integrated Development Environment (IDE) components, including Java and C/C++ compilers, code analysis tools, and standard C/C++ libraries for embedded and desktop development.
In addition to the Noida lab, Metrowerks now has development sites in Austin, Texas; Basel, Switzerland; Beijing, China; Boston, Mass.; Bucharest, Romania; Cupertino, Calif.; Grenoble, France; Hong Kong; London, England; Montreal, Canada; St. Petersburg, Russia; Tel Aviv, Israel; and Tokyo, Japan.
