Second Annual Mobility Awards Nominations Announced
CUPERTINO, Calif. — January 16, 1996 — Mobile Insights Inc. today announced nominations for the second annual Mobility Awards.
The awards will be presented during the Mobile Insights '96 conference, to be held Feb. 18-20 at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix. The winners in each category will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday, Feb. 20. The Mobility Awards are the first awards to recognize the top products and services in mobile computing and wireless data communications.
"We're excited about the Mobility Awards because they provide an opportunity to publicly recognize and support the best mobile products and services in the industry," said Dr. J. Gerry Purdy, president and CEO of Mobile Insights Inc. "The Mobility Awards Committee has nominated significant companies, products and individuals that are the leaders and future leaders directing and impacting the mobile computing and wireless data communications industries."
Sixty nominees were selected for Mobility Awards in the following major product categories: portable computing, wireless communicator, remote access, software, PC card, and components and accessories. Twelve nominees were also selected for recognition in the areas of outstanding personal achievement, technology achievement and product of the year in the mobile computing and wireless data communications industries. The Mobility Awards ceremony will begin with a banquet sponsored by AT&T Wireless Services, to be followed by the Mobility Awards presentation sponsored by Mobile Insights and PC World magazine. Each winner will be presented with a trophy engraved with the name of the category and the winner.
