Scriptel Holding Inc. and Tandy Corp. Sign Settlement License Agreement

COLUMBUS, Ohio — November 10, 1993 — Scriptel Holding Inc. a Columbus, Ohio company, Wednesday announced that they have reached an accord with Tandy Corp. of Fort Worth, Texas, on a Settlement and License Agreement for the use of Scriptel's patented Calibration technology.

The agreement covers models of computers that use a pen digitizer interface that were first introduced for sale prior to June 30, 1993, and manufactured or sold by Grid Systems Corp. a subsidiary.

The agreement includes GRiDPads, Convertibles, and PalmPads. The agreement also allows for the sublicensing of AST Research Inc., based in Irvine, Calif., for any Grid pen-based computer models covered by the agreement and introduced for sale prior to AST's purchase of Tandy's computer manufacturing business.

The agreement has an option to license Scriptel's patents on a royalty bearing basis for any new pen-based computer products and also gives Tandy the right to sublicense AST for future pen-based computer products. Specific terms of the agreement were not released.
