Largest Microsoft Partner Pavilion Ever Planned for COMDEX/Fall ’96; Features Over 180 of Microsoft’s Leading Solution Providers

NEEDHAM, Mass. — November 8, 1996 — Microsoft Corporation will present the world's largest one-stop shop for customized Microsoft-based solutions during COMDEX/Fall '96. The Microsoft(R) Partner Pavilion will feature over 180 companies, many of which will demonstrate products based on Windows CE, to be officially introduced at the event. The show runs November 18-22, 1996.

The Microsoft Partner Pavilion, the largest ever assembled, will be located adjacent to the Microsoft booth at the front entrance of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The pavilion will contain Microsoft's leading partners, demonstrating the latest innovations and advances in Microsoft BackOffice(TM) applications, Windows NT(R), Windows 95 and Plug and Play technology. Companies are also exhibiting new products for Windows CE, an exciting new Microsoft technology for hand-held PCs.

Microsoft Partner Pavilion highlights include Hewlett-Packard's Windows CE-based Palmtop PC featuring True View; AVALOS's wireless Web browser that allows Windows CE users to connect to global wireless services; Motorola's communications and semiconductor products designed for the hand-held computing market; Casio's hand-held PC, Cassiopeia, which runs the Windows CE platform; SkyTel's Messenger for Windows CE communications software; and bsquare development's bsquare FAX running under Windows CE. Other companies exhibiting within the pavilion include: Computer Associates International; IBM Corporation; Imagination Software; Keyfile Corporation; Micron Electronics Inc.; NuMega Technologies, Inc.; Pervasive Software; and Rhetorex Inc.

This specialized pavilion is the industry's only one-stop shop for customized Windows-based solutions for specific business needs. These solution providers, independent software vendors, independent hardware vendors and OEMs are companies qualified in using Microsoft technology to provide successful solutions for businesses. They offer a broad range of services, including training, system installation, integration, connectivity, software solutions and consulting.

In addition to COMDEX/Fall '96, a Microsoft Partner Pavilion is in development for WINDOWS WORLD '97 in cooperation with COMDEX/Spring, CES, the largest consumer trade show; and EXPO COMM, the leading broad-based communications exhibition. This mega event brings together the most respected names in technology trade events and addresses the converging marketplaces for computing, communications and consumer electronics. This event takes place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, June 2-5, 1997.

COMDEX/Fall '96 attracts over 210,000 attendees and 2,100 exhibiting companies. As part of the COMDEX Conference, over 70 conference sessions, PowerPanels and SuperSessions led by industry leaders are scheduled to provide participants with the latest information in key areas of IT. In addition, the show includes several technology-specific pavilions, including a Mobile and Wireless Computing Pavilion, ISDN Pavilion and Computer Telephony Pavilion. Attendees can also visit the COMDEX Internet, COMDEX Multimedia and COMDEX Communications and Network Computing areas, containing product demonstrations, exhibits and conference tracks developed especially for these audiences.
