PNY’s Flash Memory VersaCard Tested and Certified as Windows CE Compatible
MOONACHIE, N.J. — April 16, 1997 — PNY Technologies Inc., a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of memory upgrade products, recently announced that its entire VersaCard product line was tested and approved by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) for use with the Windows CE operating system used in personal digital assistants and pen computers such as the Casio Cassiopeia A-11 and The NEC MobilePro 400.
PNY's VersaCard passed WHQL's Flash memory detection test, format compatibility test, file copy test and a FAT (File Allocation Table) file system stress test.
"VersaCard delivers many technological benefits," says Joe Klein, PNY's vice president of engineering. "First and foremost, it utilizes non-volatile Flash memory which can retain data after power is interrupted or shut down. VersaCard can also be re-used hundreds of times. Its solid state construction makes it rugged and reliable memory, while its compact size makes VersaCard easy to transport and store."
VersaCard comes with a free passive adapter that makes it compatible with virtually any PDA, digital camera, notebook computer, or PC requiring Flash memory and equipped with a standard type II or type III PCMCIA slot.
VersaCard is currently available in 4, 8 and 15 MB densities. PNY Part numbers and manufacturer's suggested list prices are as follows: P-CF004-PA-BX (4MB) @ $129.00, P-CF008-PA-BX (8MB) @ $219.00 and P-CF015-PA-BX @ $329.00.
VersaCard is 100% tested before shipment and is backed by a lifetime warranty and seven day, toll-free tech support (1-800-234-4597). For more information about VersaCard and other PNY memory products, visit PNY's web site at www.pny.com.
