CIC’s PenDOS and Handwriter Software Offered on New Epson Handheld Computer

LAS VEGAS — November 15, 1993 — Communication Intelligence Corp. (NASDAQ-NMS: CICI) today announced that its PenDOS(R) pen operating environment and award-winning Handwriter(R) Recognition System are bundled on Epson America's newly announced EHT-30 handheld computer. The EHT-30 is being demonstrated this week by Epson at the Fall COMDEX trade show in Las Vegas.

The EHT-30 handheld computer is designed specifically to address vertical mobile markets. It can be used in virtually any application where there is a need to manipulate, capture and record data and then communicate that data wirelessly to a host system. Some common applications include inventory control, route accounting and management, field sales, stock and commodities on-floor transactions and price reporting, and hospital/medical data collection.

"We strongly believe that CIC's commitment to standards in its development of PenDOS will strengthen the growing handheld market," said Bud Weist, Epson OEM director of marketing. "Our association with CIC allows us to provide our customers with the most powerful and flexible systems available today."

"PenDOS is ideally suited to the EHT-30 and other handheld computers that require small memory size, low battery consumption, but fast and robust responses," stated CIC President James Dao. "CIC expects that PenDOS will be available on additional handheld computers shortly."

The EHT-30 will be sold through the OEM and VAR channels beginning in January 1994. Sample units are available now.
