CIC And Summit Computer Co. Ltd. Sign Distribution Agreement for Handwriter for Windows Desktop Pen Computing in Thailand
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. — February 21, 1994 — Communication Intelligence Corp. (CIC) (NASDAQ-NMS: CICI) today announced an agreement with the Summit Computer Co. Ltd. of Bangkok, Thailand, for the distribution of CIC's revolutionary desktop pen computing product, Handwriter(R) for Windows(TM).
"We're very pleased to have a working partnership with Summit Computer," said James Dao, chairman and chief executive officer of CIC. "The Summit agreement represents another step in our strategy of selling CIC's pen computing products in Asia."
Under the terms of the agreement, Summit has placed orders for Handwriter for Windows and will immediately begin distribution of the standard English language configuration of the product. (The current Thai market has a high percent of business conducted in the English language.) Summit will also work with CIC to develop a Thai language virtual keyboard and, subsequently, a Thai recognition system.
"Our support teams," Dao concluded, "will work closely with Summit, training their people, building both their understanding of pen computing and of CIC's wide range of products and services."
