Communication Intelligence Corporation Elects Newly Expanded Board of Directors; Philip Sassower Appointed as Chairman of the Board
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. — June 3, 1998 — Communication Intelligence Corp. (CIC) announced today that it has expanded its board and elected seven directors.
In addition CIC announced that Philip Sassower was appointed as Chairman of the Board, and that the Office of the Chief Executive Officer was eliminated.
The following seven directors were elected to the Board at the company's annual meeting of stockholders held June 1, 1998: Michael A. Braun, James Dao, Guido DiGregorio, Jess M. Ravich, Philip Sassower, Jeffrey Steiner and C.B. Sung. Dao, DiGregorio, Sassower and Sung previously served on the Board. Braun, Ravich and Steiner are new members of the Board of Directors.
Steiner is the Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of the Fairchild Corp., a NYSE listed company (NYSE:FA) in the fields of aerospace and high technology. He also serves as Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of Banner Aerospace (distributor and lessor of aircraft parts and engines) and as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of RHI Holdings, Inc. (a holding company of The Fairchild Corp.). He currently serves as a director of the Franklin Corp. and the Copley Fund.
Jess M. Ravich is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer and majority stockholder of Libra Investments, Inc., a registered broker dealer. Ravich serves on the Board of Directors of Cherokee, Inc. (a clothing manufacturer), ACTV, Inc. (a developer of individualized television programming) and several privately held companies.
Braun is the President and CEO of Neuron Data, Inc., a software company. Braun previously served as Chairman of the Board of Interactive Multimedia Association, a multimedia trade association ("IMA"), which with his assistance was founded in 1990. Braun has also served as President and CEO of Kaleida Labs, Inc. (a multimedia company). Braun held various executive and managerial positions at IBM Corp.
Philip Sassower also was elected Chairman of the Board of the Company. Sassower is currently Chairman of the Executive and Finance Committees and was Co-Chief Executive Officer of the Company. The Office of Chief Executive Officer, previously occupied by Sassower and James Dao (the company's founder), was eliminated.
James Dao, the former Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, will focus his full-time attention on CICC, the company's joint venture with a Ministry of Electronic Industries of the Jiangsu Province of the People's Republic of China.
