Communication Intelligence Corporation Begins Shipping QuickNotes for Palm-Size PCs Running Windows CE
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. — November 4, 1998 — Communication Intelligence Corporation (CIC) (Nasdaq:CICI) announced today that it has begun shipping the popular QuickNotes(TM) notetaking application for Windows(R) CE-based Palm-size PCs.
QuickNotes allows users to capture notes and drawings as electronic ink on their Palm-size PC. QuickNotes comes with a PC compatible desktop version of the application for Windows '95, '98 and NT. QuickNotes for the Palm-size PC is $ 39. A special bundle offering of QuickNotes and the Jot(TM) Pro handwriting recognition upgrade is being offered for $ 58. Both QuickNotes and Jot Pro are available for purchase and download from CIC's website at http://www.cic.com.
Guido DiGregorio, CIC's president commented "CIC is committed to being the leader in pen enabled software solutions for the handheld market. QuickNotes for the Palm-size PC offers some exciting features and we are pleased to add it to our line of software offerings for handheld organizers. We believe that QuickNotes is an indispensable application for mobile computer users."
QuickNotes for the Palm-size PC (P/PC) offers powerful new features to increase the utility of P/PCs. One of these new features is InkSnap(TM). When enabled, InkSnap allows users to write longer and more useful notes by automatically reducing the size of the handwritten ink to fit the page. As a result of InkSnap, QuickNotes users can continue writing notes without running out of screen space.
Users who have installed bSQUARE's bFAX(R) Express can fax QuickNotes pages directly from their P/PC. Quicknotes for the P/PC also supports a voice memo feature for attaching voice-recorded notes to QuickNotes. QuickNotes' intuitive notebook user interface simplifies the organization of notes and ideas, whether written or spoken.
Thanks to CIC's INKshrINK(R) compression technology, most written notes use less than 2k bytes per page. A PC compatible desktop version of QuickNotes is included and enables users to transfer, archive and print notes from a Windows '95, '98 or NT desktop. Versions of QuickNotes are also available for Windows CE-based Handheld PCs, Palm(TM) III and PalmPilot(TM) organizers.
