CIC To Exhibit and Demonstrate Jot on National’s Geode WebPAD Running on the QNX Realtime Operating System at QNX 2000; QNX 2000

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. — May 12, 2000 — Communication Intelligence Corporation ("CIC")(Nasdaq: CICI), the leading supplier of natural input and electronic signature solutions, today announced that it will exhibit at the QNX 2000 International Technology Conference being held May, 14-17 in Vancouver, Canada. The Jot(R) handwriting recognition system will be demonstrated on National Semiconductor's Geode WebPAD running on the QNX(R) realtime operating system. This offering was developed as a result of CIC's agreement with National Semiconductor (NYSE:NSM) to provide Jot for the Geode(tm) WebPAD(tm), a QNX-based wireless Internet access device for the home or office.

Mike Sullivan, vice president of OEM business development for CIC stated, "We are excited to extend Jot to the QNX platform. This conference will provide us with our first broad introduction to the QNX community. Together, these manufacturers have endorsed this platform for a range of exciting new wireless devices. Jot will provide a means for them to add a reliable and convenient way to enter text on their mobile device.

Jot is a print-based recognizer that was developed by CIC after years of research in the area of pattern recognition. The product is ideally suited for Wireless Information Devices because it offers a fast and highly accurate means of entering text on small devices. Jot recognizes both English and Roman-based European characters in a very natural way supporting broader market appeal for these products. Jot is widely licensed by leading original equipment and embedded system providers including, Ericsson, Legend, National Semiconductor, Symbian, Vtech and Wacom.

The porting of Jot to the QNX platform is another step in establishing Jot as the defacto standard for input on handheld devices. The application also supports other operating systems including Palm, Windows CE, EPOC, and Linux. The conference is anticipated to be attended by over 500 original equipment manufacturers that use the QNX operating system. Additional information about the conference can be found at http://www.qnx.com.
