RadioMail Announces First Wireless E-mail Service for Motorola’s InfoTAC

LAS VEGAS — November 16, 1992 — Wireless electronic mail from RadioMail Corporation, first introduced last month at the Electronic Mail Association Conference, is now available to users of Motorola's InfoTAC Personal Data Communicator which attaches to laptop, palmtop or pen-based computers.

In addition to supporting InfoTAC, RadioMail also announced support for the Motorola RPM405i, the internal radio packet modem that Motorola offers to computer manufacturers through Motorola's OEM program.

RadioMail(TM) is the first commercial two-way wireless e-mail service for the mobile user. RadioMail, when combined with Motorola's handheld or internal radio packet modems, can provide wireless connectivity over nationwide public data networks to users in most metropolitan areas of the U.S. and Canada. RadioMail offers an e-mail software client, RadioMail Remote(TM), for the Hewlett Packard HP95LX, for any DOS personal computer, or for pen-based computers which use the PEN PAL development environment.

"The media is the message," stated Geoffrey S. Goodfellow, chairman of RadioMail Corporation. "The pocket-sized InfoTAC two-way radio modem offers a new dimension in truly portable electronic mail and wireless 'no strings attached' personal communications. RadioMail and the InfoTAC provide both productivity and fun for the mobile user."

"Motorola believes that RadioMail on the InfoTAC is a significant step toward the development of a broader market and we welcome RadioMail as the first software supplier to support InfoTAC," said Jeff Morris, vice president of marketing for Motorola's Mobile Data Division. "The great interest demonstrated at the EMA conference for the RadioMail connection to the ARDIS network attests to its being the right application at the right time."
