Racotek and Motorola Reach Agreement

MINNEAPOLIS — March 16, 1994 — Racotek Inc., (NASDAQ:RACO) a wireless mobile data communications services company, Wednesday announced that it has reached an agreement with Motorola's Land Mobile Products Sector that will allow Motorola's sales representatives to immediately begin selling Racotek's mobile data services. These Racotek voice and data services on Motorola's Privacy Plus(R) public network offer customers unique functionality not currently offered by the Motorola sales force.

"This agreement means that Motorola's current and future customers can consider Racotek mobile data services to satisfy their remote data requirements as they look to improve productivity with their mobile workers," said Mike Fabiaschi, Racotek's vice president of sales. "Working with Motorola's nationwide sales force, Racotek has completed another significant step to become a premiere provider of wireless mobile data communications across North America."

"We believe there is demand for Racotek mobile data service on Privacy Plus networks."

Motorola's direct field sales representatives will begin introducing current and prospective customers using or considering the 800 MHz Privacy Plus infrastructure to Racotek mobile data services.

Minneapolis-based Racotek has developed RacoNet(R) wireless networking software that is the interface between a customer's chosen application and the components of a mobile communication system including multiple wireless infrastructures. Currently, customers use RacoNet with SMR transmission services which provides metropolitan mobile data communications services in more than 15,000 cities across North America. Racotek will begin offering ARDIS wireless data to the cable television industry by the end of 1994.
