ARDIS Receives Reader’s Choice Award from mobilis magazine; Voted Best Wide Area Wireless Services

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. — April 15, 1996 — ARDIS today announced that its nationwide wireless data network has received the Reader's Choice Award from the readers of mobilis magazine. In a three month online survey, in which more than two thousand readers participated, ARDIS received the award for Best Wide Area Wireless Services, leading a field that included all existing wireless data technologies, including packet radio and cellular digital packet data.

"ARDIS is committed to driving the growth of the wireless data industry by bringing ease-of-use and ease-of-purchase to organizations and mobile professionals who are turning to wireless communications for added competitive edge and productivity," said Dan Croft, ARDIS senior vice president, Marketing. "Receiving the Reader's Choice Award from the readers of mobilis is a vote of confidence for ARDIS, showing that our efforts are not going unnoticed by the active users of wireless data technology."

"By virtue of being published exclusively on the Web, mobilis attracts a highly motivated and sophisticated audience of mobile computing developers and users. Their selection of ARDIS as the most popular wide area wireless data service indicates that ARDIS has created a service that clearly demonstrates the benefits of wireless data for a wide range of people," said John Jerney, publisher and editor of mobilis.

The survey was conducted on the mobilis World Wide Web home page from November, 1995 through February, 1996. Readers were asked to vote for their favorite mobile computing and communications products, including personal digital assistant (PDA), PDA software, handwriting recognition software and wide-area and local-area wireless services. The results reflect end-users' perceptions about the state of the mobile and wireless industries.
