Apple ComputerGaston Bastiaens, general manager of Apple’s Personal Interactive Electronics (PIE) division, left the company on April 18, 1994 to start his own business.

Bastiaens, who joined Apple in September 1992, headed the division that introduced the Newton MessagePad. Before coming to Apple, Bastiaens spent 21 years with the Dutch electronics giant Philips Electronics.

Joseph Graziano, chief financial officer for Apple, will assume responsibility for the PIE division until a replacement is announced.

Radius Inc.Robert W. Saltmarsh was appointed as chief financial officer of Radius, Inc. of San Jose, California on April 25, 1994. Mr. Saltmarsh previously served as vice president of finance for Apple’s Personal Interactive Electronics division.
