BYTE Breaks Full Story in February Issue on Revolutionary New Pen-Based Operating System from GO Corp.

January 23, 1991 — BYTE magazine announced Wednesday that its February cover story is an exclusive, in-depth look on GO Corp.’s revolutionary new pen-based operating system for mobile computers.

GO took the wraps off PenPoint yesterday, announcing that the new operating system will be available to developers in March.

The story, which appears as part of BYTE’s State of the Art coverage on Future Laptops, explains the technology and impact of this far-reaching advance in computing. It reflects on the dramatic change in the way computers are used by individuals. Specifically, pen-based computers are powerful, tablet-like devices that operate like a notebook, enabling the user to input information with a special pen.

A story is also running on-line on BIX (BYTE Information Exchange) in the Microbytes news conference.
