Telxon Purchases PenRight!

Recognizing the importance of having the proper development tools to spur the creation of custom pen applications, Telxon completed its acquisition of the PenRight! product and technology from AST Research, Inc.

In doing so, Telxon also acquired the Fremont California-based development and marketing organization, and formed an independent subsidiary called PenRight! Corp.

PenRight! Corp. was quick to point out that the company is committed to supporting all current and new customers. This includes over 750 independent software vendors, along with several pen-based manufacturers including companies such as AST, Dauphin, Fujitsu, Toshiba, and others.

In addition to enhancing its current environment, PenRight! is also developing a subset interface which will enable its character recognition technology to work with Microsoft’s popular Windows for Pen Computing.
