Pen-Based Computing on the Web
Pen-Based Computing is more than a monthly newsletter—it’s a complete online resource for mobile computing information. To begin with, each issue of Pen-Based Computing is available as a fully-formatted electronic document in Adobe Acrobat format.
The electronic version, known as Pen-Based Computing/Online, is available in both a single user or corporate site license. Gone are the days of dog-eared paper floating leisurely through a department.
Pen-Based Computing is also on the Worldwide Web. Currently, our site features information about the newsletter, with links to additional sources concerning the range of mobile computing technologies.
To reach our Web home page, please use the following URL:

CompuServe
CompuServe has many resources that support pen-based computing. Among the most popular are the following online forums which support pen-based computers, PDAs and palmtops:
- GO NEWTON (Newton users forum)
- GO NEWTDEV (Newton developers forum)
- GO PALMTOP (supports most palmtop computers and PDAs)
- GO PENFORUM
The Pen Technology Forum is mostly developer oriented, but includes support for PenPoint, the EO units, and various pen-based software packages.
Additional online areas will be added in the months ahead to support all aspects of portable and pen-based computing and wireless communications.
The primary managers for the above areas are:
- Ron Luks — 76703,254
- Neil Shapiro — 76703,401
For a free introductory CompuServe membership kit, which includes a $15 usage credit and one month’s free standard subscription (an $8.95 value) please call 1-800-524-3388 and ask for operator 307.
