Apple Computer—The Personal Interactive Electronics Division lost a key executive when Shane Robison, vice president, left to join Cadence Design Systems Inc.

Mr. Robison will be replaced temporarily by Sandy Benett, currently the head of the Newton Software Engineering Group. Apple officials were quick to point out that the departure does not reflect any friction within the Newton division. Instead, Mr. Robison is reported to have received “a tremendous offer” from Cadence.

Interestingly, Robison’s exit comes a short 15 months following the departure of his predecessor, Gaston Bastiaens.

SunDisk Corp.—The Santa Clara, California leader in PC Card mass storage has named Marianne Jackson to the position of vice president of human resources. Jackson previously held the identical position at Logitech.
