Pensoft Ships Perspective, Distribution Agreements Announced

January 11, 1993 — Pensoft. Corp. today announced Perspective, its intelligent personal information manager for mobile professionals, is shipping. The software, which runs on mobile pen-based computers increases the productivity of mobile professionals such as salespeople, managers and executives by providing them with an efficient and easy-to-use electronic information organizer.

Perspective’s underlying database makes the product a flexible and powerful tool.”

Perspective is a complete solution for mobile professionals and includes a Day Planner, Month Planner, Address Book, To Do List and a Notetaker. The Day Planner has a familiar pen and paper format which provides immediate productivity. The Associate, Perspective’s “intelligent agent,” keeps users organized by automatically cross- referencing appointments and To Do items with contacts in the Address Book. Perspective’s Address Book can serve as the system-wide address book for all applications that run under GO Corp.’s PenPoint operating system. Customers can create custom solutions such as price lists and sales call reports using Perspective’s List Paper and ProfileBook. Lists and forms can collect or display product and customer information or other types of data. The built-in Notetaker is ideal for taking notes during phone conversations or meetings.

Perspective comes with Getting Started and Reference Handbooks, an on-line tutorial, context-sensitive help and more than 50 sample documents. Customers also receive built-in reference data for hotels, airlines, rental cars and other business services. A director of America’s finest restaurants from Epicurean Rendezvous’ Fine Dining Guides is also included. Perspective customers are eligible for free telephone technical support. Perspective has a suggested retail price of $299.

Pensoft also announced distribution agreements with Merisel and Ingram Micro. These agreements make Perspective available to a large base of value added resellers (VARs) and computer resellers. Perspective is also available directly from Pensoft. Each copy of Perspective includes both Intel- and Hobbit-based versions for PenPoint computers including those from IBM, NCR, Samsung, Toshiba, NEC, Grid and the recently announced EO 440 and 880 Personal Communicators.
