PenUltimate Commences Initial Public Trading Today; First Pen Computing Software Firm to Go Public

August 12, 1992 — Paul Mondschein, president and chief executive officer of PenUltimate Inc., a leading developer of pen computing software, announced today that PenUltimate is now listed on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol PULA.
PenUltimate, with approximately 5,790,000 shares outstanding, is the first and only pen applications software develop-er to be publicly traded.

“Pen computing is not only the most promising new market of the computer industry, it is the next step in the ‘democratization’ of technology,” Mondschein stated. “PenUltimate is positioning itself to be a leading architect of that process.”

“This has been the most conceptual and forward-thinking deal we’ve ever done,” remarked Eric Anderson, president of Bentley, Richards & Associates, PenUltimate’s investment banking firm.

“Of course, we applied our industry-standard skepticism in our due diligence evaluation. After assessing PenUltimate’s business plan and meeting the core management team, we concluded that the only risk we could incur would be not to do the deal.”

PenUltimate is currently developing programs for vertical, horizontal and retail pen applications with several of the nation’s leading pen computing manufacturers.

As of this announcement, PenUltimate is now a: Certified Go Corp. PenPoint Developer; Member, Slate Corp. Certified Developer Program; Member, IBM Corp.’s Pen Developer Program; Member, NCR Corp.’s Pen Developer “Software Alliances.”

PenUltimate’s first product for the horizontal market will be “SalesForce,” a pencentric sales and marketing program providing true portable mobility for field sales as well as a complimentary application for the corporate host environment.

On the vertical front, PenUltimate is targeting the law enforcement, government, financial services and medical mar-kets, among others, with such programs as: “C.O.P.S.,” a system providing law enforcement personnel with mobile applications for processing data and performing administrative functions; “Bedside Manner,” a pen-based application suite providing imaging, data capture and query/report capabilities for health care practitioners; “PenCFP,” a mobile pencentric fact-finder for financial planners with a parallel track for insurance professionals in data gathering and information processing; and “City Manager,” a data capture system for all mobile functions of small- to medium-sized municipalities.

For the retail market, PenUltimate is developing “ProActive,” a personal information manager to be developed in con-junction with the development of the retail pen market.

Additionally, PenUltimate will continue to accept and evaluate requests for custom applications and pilot projects.
PenUltimate’s headquarters are located at 1900 MacArthur Blvd., Suite 620, Irvine, Calif., 92715. For investor information, contact Urban Smedeby at Bentley, Richards & Associates, 800/859-4960.
