Berg to the newly created positions of vice president, sales and marketing for healthcare markets, and director, product management, mobile products, respectively. Both new AirMedia executives bring valuable experience and knowledge of the healthcare and mobile computing markets, and are each uniquely qualified to make notable contributions to the growth and success of AirMedia's wireless push technology.
Ms. Buaas' responsibilities will include managing AirMedia's expansion of business-to-business sales of wireless push servers to the healthcare industry. Mr. Berg will concentrate on managing and expanding the sales and support services of AirMedia's line of push technology products for the mobile computing market.
Ms. Buaas has achieved a number of accomplishments in healthcare marketing, management, public relations, sales, advertising and marketing communications. In her most recent position, Ms. Buaas served as director of marketing for Bergen Brunswig Corporation, a leading pharmaceutical and medical supplies distributor. Among her other career successes, Ms. Buaas successfully launched the homecare division of a Fortune 500 hospital management company.
Mr. Berg also has a proven record in the desktop and mobile computing industries and has made a strong contribution to the marketing and sales success of the companies with whom he has been involved. Mr. Berg spent several years at AST Computer, where he served as director of product marketing and brand management, mobile products, and as director of product marketing, consumer desktops. Mr. Berg was responsible for the worldwide product management and marketing of AST's mobile computing products, including PDAs, notebooks, sub-notebooks, pen computers and handheld computing devices. He successfully launched the company's first entry into the mobile market, gained a noteworthy market share in the first year and increased company revenues. While Mr. Berg served as director of marketing for AST's Advantage! line of consumer desktop computers, sales of the line accounted for over 500,000 units and approximately $ 900 million in revenue per year.
"We are pleased to announce the additions of Ms. Buaas and Mr. Berg to our management team. AirMedia's management recognizes a vast potential for our wireless push applications and content delivery within the healthcare industry. To that end, we could not be more confident in our decision to hire Ms. Buaas for the task of expanding AirMedia into this market. Her background in healthcare marketing and sales is highly impressive," stated John Payne, President, AirMedia.
"We feel equally strong about Mr. Berg's background and successful product marketing track record and we believe his expertise will really complement our plans and goals for our further expansion into the wireless mobile computing market.
