ARDIS, the nation's leading wireless data network operator, today announced support for the HP(r) 300LX and 320LX palmtop PCs, the new Windows(r) CE-based devices from Hewlett-Packard Company. Using ARDIS' suite of cost-effective bundled solutions, users can easily turn the HP 300LX/320LX palmtop PCs into wireless mobile clients, providing seamless wireless communication to Windows-based desktops, as well as Internet and Intranet connectivity.

To provide the industry's most complete family of wireless solutions for the 300LX/320LX palmtop PCs, ARDIS is offering product bundles that include the Motorola PersonalMessenger(tm)100 Wireless Modem Card packaged with a choice of Windows CE-based electronic mail and two-way messaging applications, including IKON MobileCHOICE(tm), RadioMail(tm) and Mail on the Run!(r). Providing one-stop wireless shopping and convenient 6-24 month lease options with a low monthly fee, ARDIS bundled solutions easily extend wireless capabilities to the popular Windows computing environment using the HP 300LX/320LX palmtop PCs. ARDIS wireless solutions bring interactive messaging services to the millions of mobile workers using Windows that need a palmtop PC to be productive while on the road.

In addition to the PersonalMessenger 100D Wireless Modem Card, ARDIS bundled solutions can include any of the following electronic mail and two-way messaging applications designed specifically for the Windows CE operating system:

–IKON MobileCHOICE, providing wireless services including two-way messaging via a 1-800 number or PC client messaging software, Internet e-mail, faxing and information services access.

–Mail on the Run!, which enables users to wirelessly send, receive, preview, store, forward and reply to messages on corporate standard e-mail systems. The software includes filtering capabilities that allow e-mail users to collect only those messages that they want to retrieve. Optimized for wireless environments, Mail on the Run! also includes encryption and data compression capabilities that provide security and cost-efficient messaging.

–RadioMail, which provides a wireless gateway to the Internet and a host of information and business services. The application allows for two-way Internet messaging, paging, faxing and access to information services.

The bundled solutions will be available direct from ARDIS and through authorized ARDIS agents in late Spring 1997, coinciding with product availability from HP.

The HP 300LX/320LX palmtop PCs feature an 80 column, 640×240 LCD display, allowing users to easily view e-mails, web pages and business documents without cumbersome side-to-side scrolling. Running Windows CE, the 300LX/320LX palmtop PCs allow users to carry critical information from their notebook and desktop PCs while on the road, including appointment calendars and phone books.
