ARDIS to Distribute Full Line of Motorola Wireless Data Products

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. — March 5, 1996 — ARDIS today announced that it will resell Motorola's full line of wireless data products, including the company's hand-held wireless communicators, wireless client-server middleware and wireless PC Card modems. As a Motorola Master Distributor, ARDIS will bundle wireless software, hardware and air time services to address specific customer needs, providing one stop shopping that makes it easier to purchase total wireless solutions.

"The key pieces of the wireless data solutions puzzle have recently come together, including the availability of wireless-enabled applications and wireless PC Card modems," said Dan Croft, ARDIS senior vice president, marketing operations. "As a Motorola Master Distributor, ARDIS will take the industry one step further by marketing a variety of bundled solutions that provide end-users with increased convenience and lower prices."

Motorola products will be available direct from ARDIS and through authorized ARDIS agents. Available immediately, ARDIS will distribute the following products:

AirMobile Wireless Software for cc:Mail : An extension to Lotus cc:Mail Mobile for Windows, AirMobile Wireless Software for cc:Mail provides a comprehensive suite of wireless e-mail capabilities that offer transparent wireless operations to mobile users. With ARDIS air time services and AirMobile Wireless Software for cc:Mail, users can instantly send and receive e-mail wirelessly, manage business contacts and maintain continuous contacts with colleagues across the U.S.

Personal Messenger 100D Wireless Modem Card: This two-way wide area network wireless modem card inserts into the PCMCIA Type II and Type III slots of most popular computing devices and personal digital assistants. The wireless modem can receive and store messages even when not plugged into a computing device.

Marco Wireless Communicator: A portable, hand-held device that allows users to access, organize, manage and exchange information while on the move. It is based on Apple's Newton platform, the industry's leading hand-held operation platform.

Envoy Wireless Communicator: A hand-held integrated communication and organization tool for on-the-go business professionals who need real-time access to people and information – wherever and whenever. The Envoy Wireless Communicator integrates two-way nationwide wireless, wireline and infrared communications onto a single portable communications device. It is based on General Magic's Magic Cap platform and Telescript communications language.

InfoTAC Two-Way Messenger: A wireless packet data modem which acts as a two-way messaging device as well as a full function radio modem.

Motorola will continue to manufacture and market each of these products.
