Bear Stearns to Host Fourth Annual Technology Conference in New York
NEW YORK — June 23, 1993 — Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. announced Wednesday that beginning on Monday June 28 it is hosting its fourth annual Technology Conference at its headquarters in New York.
The conference consists of over 100 leading technology companies in the computer hardware, computer software, communications, consumer electronics, distribution, semiconductor and related industries presenting over three days from Monday June 28 through Wednesday June 30. Bear Stearns said that it is also hosting six issue-oriented panels, two each day during lunch on topics of critical importance to investors.
On Monday, June 28, Intel will lead off the conference with a keynote speech by David L. House, senior vice president of corporate strategy at Intel. Other company presentations will include AMP Incorporated, AST Research, Inc., Autodesk, Inc., Borland International, Inc., Dell Computer Corporation, Ericsson Corporation, Motorola, National Semiconductor Corporation, Texas Instruments Inc., Storage Technology Corporation and Tandy Corporation. The luncheon panels will be "Free at Last: Wireless Data Communications" and "Back to the Future: The Technology Roadmap."
Tuesday's schedule starts with a keynote speech by Dr. Robert Carberry, president, IBM Fireworks Partners, which coordinates all of IBM's multimedia ventures. Other company presentations will include Cyrix Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation, Electronic Arts, Inc., Gateway 2000, Inc., Intelligent Electronics Inc., Lotus Development Corporation, Novell, Inc., Olivetti, Quantum Corporation and Tech Data Corporation. The panels during lunch are "Just for the Sell of It: Distribution Trends" and "Delivering Digital to your Door: Future Systems."
The keynote speech on Wednesday will be delivered by Geoffrey W. Holmes, senior vice president, technology at Time Warner, Inc. Other presentations on Wednesday will highlight the merging of computing communications, media and consumer electronics, including AT&T Corporation, Media Vision and Sega of America, Inc. A lunchtime panel, "Hand-to-Hand Combat: The Emerging Hand Held Computer" will feature Apple Computer, Inc., Cirrus Logic, Inc., Dataquest, Inc., EO, Inc., Hewlett-Packard Company, Intel Corporation, Intuit, Inc. and PicoPower Technology, Inc. The second panel will be "Technology to the Rescue: Computer Services and Healthcare." Other presentations in the semiconductor, computer and electronics sectors will be made by Adaptec, Inc., Cirrus Logic, Inc., Oracle Corporation, Stratus Computer, Inc. and Sun Microsystems, Inc.
