Casio Licenses Communication Intelligence Corporation’s QuickNotes Software for Windows CE Products
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. — July 16, 1997 — Communication Intelligence corporation (CIC) (Nasdaq: CICI) announced today that Casio Corporation is bundling CIC's QuickNotes(TM) note-taking application on its new Cassiopeia Windows(R) CE handheld personal computers. As part of the licensing agreement, Casio will also promote CIC's Jot(TM) handwriting recognition software by including Jot sales literature in the Cassiopeia packaging.

Cassiopeia was designed and engineered for mobile professionals. The pocket-size device comes with built-in Windows CE(R), a Windows-based operating system specially developed for handheld pen computers. Cassiopeia offers a variety of useful applications pre-installed, such as an information manager. It also comes bundled with a selection of business-oriented applications, including CIC's QuickNotes.
QuickNotes(TM) is an application which allows people to capture handwritten notes and drawings on their Windows(R) CE handheld computers. QuickNotes offers users a simple paper-like metaphor for creating and navigating through notes. Since the notes are stored in chronological order and time stamped, it is easy to sort notes and to find information. QuickNotes uses CIC's proprietary electronic ink compression technology to minimize the amount of memory which is required by QuickNotes pages.
