Communication Intelligence Corp. First Quarter 1996 Financial Results

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. — May 10, 1996 — Communication Intelligence Corp. (CIC) today announced its financial results for the quarter ending March 31, 1996, the first quarter of its 1996 fiscal year.

Revenues for the quarter ending March 31, 1996 were $ 639,000, as compared to $ 494,000 for the corresponding quarter of the prior year.

The net loss for the quarter was $ 1.4 million, as compared to a net loss of $ 1.2 million for the corresponding quarter of the prior year. The net loss per share was $ 0.04 on 40.1 million weighted average common shares outstanding for the current quarter as compared to a net loss of $ 0.03 per share on 33.7 million weighted average common shares outstanding for the corresponding quarter of the prior year.

The company's cash and short-term investment position at March 31, 1996, was $ 4.9 million compared to $ 7.5 million at December 31, 1995. The difference is primarily attributable to the loss for the quarter and a repayment of debt of $ 760,000 made during the first quarter of 1996.
