Documents To Go Brings “Office” to the Palm Computing Platform
TRUMBULL, Conn. — December 2, 1998 — DataViz(R) Inc., the leading developers of compatibility software, has announced a new synchronization product that brings important files from office suite applications like Word, Excel and others to the Palm Computing(R) platform.
Documents To Go (TM) uses 3Com's HotSync(R) technology to provide a complete solution for viewing up-to-date versions of everyday documents on any Palm Connected organizer. It will be released in the first quarter of 1999 for both Macintosh and Windows.

Given our history of providing file compatibility solutions, it seemed logical that we provide this same level of quick access to information other than calendar and contacts. As Simple To Use As The Palm Organizer Itself
Just drag word processing files and spreadsheets into the Documents To Go window on your desktop PC or Mac. They will automatically be converted and optimized for remote viewing. There is no need to specially format the documents on the desktop. Pressing the HotSync button brings the documents down to the Palm organizer.
Up-To-Date Versions of Your Documents At Your Fingertips-Automatically
During a HotSync, Documents To Go checks to make sure all documents on the Palm device are current. If necessary, updated versions are created automatically from the modified desktop documents. It can even access files stored on servers, so whether you use local, modem or network HotSync, you can be sure you have up-to-date documents in hand.
View Documents from Microsoft Office, Lotus SmartSuite and Corel WordPerfect Suite
Documents To Go is the only solution that provides viewers for both word processing and spreadsheet files, as well as a conduit to keep them in synch. While spreadsheet applications exist for the Palm Computing platform, DataViz is the first to develop a standard for spreadsheet viewing — allowing quick access to important information even from large complicated desktop spreadsheets. Word processing files are converted into the standard Doc format for the Palm organizer. Documents To Go supports Microsoft Office, Lotus SmartSuite, Corel WordPerfect Suite and ClarisWorks.
