SANTA CLARA, Calif. — July 19, 1999 — Fujitsu Personal Systems, Inc. (FPSI), the undisputed leader in the Windows pen tablet market, today announced the immediate availability of the Stylistic LT(TM) pen tablet computer.
The lightest and most compact Windows 98 pen tablet ever, the Stylistic LT is also one of the fastest pen computers on the market. Weighing a mere 2.3 pounds and measuring only 1.1 inches thick, the Stylistic LT delivers notebook performance, with a 233 MHz Pentium MMX processor, 4.3 GB hard drive and 64 MB SDRAM.
Designed for Working Mobility(TM), the Stylistic LT meets the demanding needs of mobile enterprise applications such as merchandising, pharmaceutical clinical trials, and outpatient and home healthcare. The Stylistic LT provides instantaneous decision support at the tap of a pen, while its built-in keypad offers easy numeric data entry and retrieval. The user can instantly transform the pen tablet into a full-fledged notebook or office computer to write reports or log onto the Net by using the optional wireless keyboard and portfolio case or mini dock.

The high-performance, ultra-thin Stylistic LT packs a 233 MHz Pentium MMX processor, 64 MB SDRAM, a shock-mounted 4.3 GB Ultra ATA hard drive and an 8.4" color SVGA display into a 2.3-pound, 1.1-inch thick pen tablet computer. To suit the mobile computing needs of the enterprise, the Stylistic LT has a built-in keypad for easy numeric entry and Internet browser use, and offers input options such as a wireless keyboard for extensive text entry and a security card to prevent unauthorized access.
The Stylistic LT offers flexible display, communication and connectivity configurations. A color transflective (CTF) 800 x 600 SVGA display enables claims inspectors, surveyors and others who work both indoors and outdoors to enjoy the benefits of information-rich color detail. Also available is a sharp, SVGA TFT color display offering up to 262,144 colors and a wide viewing angle, making it easier to share information with coworkers or clients. For multimedia presentations, the Stylistic LT supports Zoomed Video, which delivers unparalleled, color-rich, full-motion video.
The Stylistic LT options include a built-in 100BASE-TX Ethernet LAN controller or an internal 56K V.90 modem. Certified for use in the U.S. and Canada, the integrated V.90 modem provides greater reliability and durability than a PC Card modem. This option also frees up an extra PC Card slot for added flexibility and convenience.
Standard connectivity includes two stacked Type-II or one Type-III PC Card 3.0 (CardBus) slots, an IrDA port, a Sound Blaster(R) Pro-compatible audio system, a USB port, and a mini dock connector. The optional mini dock offers additional connectivity, including PS/2 mouse, PS/2 keyboard, RS-232 serial, parallel, external monitor and floppy drive ports and an RJ-45 connector for use with the Ethernet option.
The Stylistic LT offers both 32-bit and 16-bit pen support to facilitate migration to 32-bit applications, while protecting customer investment in 16-bit pen applications. FPSI fully integrates the pen, enabling its use not only as a mouse, but also for handwriting recognition, signature capture, custom gestures and drawing.

The single unit list price for the Stylistic LT is $ 3,265. The price that a corporation typically pays in volume is considerably less. The Stylistic LT is available now through FPSI's worldwide base of certified VARs and system integrators.
