General Magic Licenses Microsoft Internet Explorer; Magic Cap for Windows to Include Internet Access
SUNNYVALE, Calif. — June 25, 1996 — General Magic, Inc. (Nasdaq: GMGC) today announced it has signed an agreement with Microsoft(R) Corporation to distribute Microsoft Internet Explorer. General Magic plans to bundle Internet Explorer 2.0 into its upcoming commercial release of Magic Cap(R) for Windows(TM).

"Users will be able to launch Internet Explorer directly from Magic Cap for Windows, providing them with one-click access to the World Wide Web."

Magic Cap for Windows is an integrated email, fax and personal organizer that is designed to enhance communications for small office/home office users. The product includes functionality found in the Magic Cap platform for personal communicators, with added features that make it an integrated communication center for Windows users.
General Magic expects to ship the first commercial release of Magic Cap for Windows in the second half of 1996. In the commercial release of Magic Cap for Windows, the company intends to incorporate direct support for popular on-line services and Internet service providers.
