General Magic Purchases Assets of Microsoft NT Developer

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — June 25, 1996 — General Magic, Inc. (Nasdaq: GMGC) today announced it has purchased substantially all of the assets of Conterra Software, Inc., a Microsoft NT(R) Internet/Intranet application development company based in Columbia, South Carolina. The company also announced that a Tabriz(R) AgentWare NT beta version product is expected in the Fall of 1996. These announcements are a first step in General Magic's commitment and strategy to provide a solid and tested agent-based Internet solution for Windows developers.

Tabriz AgentWare and Tabriz Agent Tools comprise a complete development and deployment environment for creating agent-based Internet services and solutions. Tabriz is based on Telescript, an object-oriented development language with more than four years of industrial strength testing in large communications networks.
