Participants at Technology Summit '94 will learn about Geoworks' vision, which outlines growing partner support for products which will enable continuous innovation in the communications, entertainment and information publishing industries.
Technology Summit '94 marks the first public appearance together of Geoworks' partners, Hewlett-Packard and Novell. They will illustrate how they are committed to elevating the consumer computer device (CCD) market.
The conference commences with Geoworks' Chairman Brian Dougherty and President and Chief Executive Officer Gordon Mayer offering their vision of how Geoworks' operating system technology will drive the CCD market and how strategic alliances with HP, Novell and others are putting this plan in place.
"Geoworks' GEOS operating system was designed from its very beginnings to run with mobile computing devices. The growing number of partnerships we have solidified will enable developers to create additional compelling applications for these products," said Mayer.
"The affordability of these products encourages us that in coming years, CCDs and PDAs will be as commonplace and necessary in everyday life as the radio," he said.
"The Power of Partnership" theme will be addressed by Bob Frankenberg, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Novell; Adrian Rietveld, president, WordPerfect, Novell Applications Division; Webb McKinney, general manager of Hewlett-Packard's Home Products Division; Bill Campbell, president and chief executive officer of Intuit; Hidetaka Yamamoto, deputy general manager of Advanced Information Group, Toshiba Corp.; and Akihiko Kunikane, deputy general manager and division general manager, Information Systems Group, Sharp Corp.
Located in Alameda, Geoworks provides sophisticated and highly efficient system software and applications for the emerging class of consumer computing devices which are designed to communicate, entertain and manage information for mass market consumers.
