GO Corp. Announces 40 Third-Party Developers and Technology Providers
January 22, 1991 — GO Corp. announced Tuesday an expanded roster of 35 new companies that have publicly committed to develop for or provide technology for its new PenPoint operating system announced Tuesday.
The new roster includes 21 software developers, six connectivity hardware and software companies, and 13 systems integrators and vertical application developers. The 35 new companies bring to a total of 40 the number of companies that have announced their support for the new PenPoint operating system.
In July 1990, GO announced that Borland International, Lotus Development Corp., WordPerfect Corp., Slate Corp., and PenSoft Corp. were doing development for PenPoint.
”The overwhelming support for PenPoint is a clear mandate from computing professionals for pen-based applications,” stated S. Jerrold, Kaplan, GO chairman and co-founder. ”The PenPoint operating system addresses the market’s need for a platform on which to build applications for a truly mobile computing environment.”
