GoAmerica Communications Corp. Announced That Their Service will be Available to Run on Windows CE

LAS VEGAS — November 18, 1996 — GoAmerica Communications Corp., a wireless service provider, today announced that their service will be available to run on Windows CE, Microsoft's new operating system for handheld devices. GoAmerica runs a fully integrated application called AirBrowse mobility solution, which is part of Bellcore's recently announced AirBoss family of advanced software solutions for mobile end users. The AirBrowse product allows users to run standard Web Browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.0 or Netscape, and to wirelessly enable these browsers when the user is mobile. The GoAmerica service has until now only been available for use with laptop computers and has now ported the application to run on the new Microsoft platform for handheld devices.

The Microsoft Windows CE platform was designed to provide the millions of mobile professionals using Windows personal computers an affordable handheld PC companion for the time they are away from the office. With the addition of the GoAmerica wireless service soon to be available on these new PC companions, the mobile users truly have all they need to stay connected while they are on the go. Windows CE provides a familiar, easy-to-learn user interface modeled after Windows 95, and provides seamless synchronization with Windows based personal computers.

The GoAmerica service gives mobile computer users wireless access to corporate Intranets; and the Internet, thus solving the connectivity issue for many corporations wanting their mobile work force to have continuous access to corporate information. The combination of the GoAmerica service and the devices offering the new Windows CE platform will truly give mobile users plug-and-play access to vital information. Wireless connectivity has never been more affordable — low cost handheld devices and a service that only charges users for the transmitted information, not connection time. In addition there are no roaming fees so users pay the same price whether they're at home or on the road.

The GoAmerica service, which was announced at PCS96 in connection with the development of the AirBoss suite of software, developed by Bellcore "is the first service to provide all the elements needed by the mobile work force," said Aaron Dobrinsky, President of GoAmerica Communication. "We provide seamless World Wide Web access utilizing standard browsers, email, and information services." GoAmerica has embarked on a strategic alliance with Bellcore and the two companies are working on launching this new service.
