Intelliworxx Licenses CIC’s PenX for the VoiceTablet Mobile Computer

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. — May 22, 2000 — Communication Intelligence Corporation ("CIC")(Nasdaq:CICI), the leading supplier of natural input and electronic signature solutions, today announced that Intelliworxx Inc. (OTCBB:IWXX) has licensed its PenX(TM) operating system extensions. The CIC solution will be bundled on Intelliworxx' VoiceTablet(TM), a ruggedized handheld computer that runs on advanced Intel(R) Pentium(R) processors and uses voice, touch and pen as convenient user interfaces.

Todd Burnham, director, materials and manufacturing for Intelliworxx Inc. said, "We think CIC's PenX offers the best 32-bit pen solution available for the Windows environment. PenX will provide the VoiceTablet with a pen interface that meets the needs of our customers' pen aware applications.

PenX is a low level extension to the Win32 operating system that provides a common application program interface (API) for pen computing, including support for input device drivers and handwriting recognition engines. To compliment this interface, PenX also includes the 32-bit version of CIC's award winning Handwriter(R) Recognition System and ActiveX edit controls needed for creating pen aware applications with Visual Basic and C++. Current licensees of PenX include such leading mobile computer manufacturers as Fujitsu, Mitsubishi, Intermec, and Walkabout.

"We are pleased to add Intelliworxx to the growing list of OEM licensees of our PenX product," said Mike Sullivan vice president of OEM business development for CIC. "CIC specifically developed PenX to meet the demands of 32-bit applications, PenX offers greater application compatibility than previous pen extension offerings. A stable pen interface is fundamental to today's vertical market pen computer offerings."

The VoiceTablet is an ideal, rugged platform for a variety of mobile computing markets including Public Safety, Government, Medical, Electronic Performance Support and more. In addition to personal mobility, simple mounting devices enable wireless computing in all types of moving vehicles.
