MicroBurst Announces Support for Microsoft Windows CE

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — September 16, 1996 — MicroBurst, Inc., an experienced cross-platform handheld developer, has selected the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE environment as its primary handheld platform. "Compared to all other handheld platforms, Windows CE provides our users superior desk-top PC connectivity and our developers superior development and quality assurance tools," says Mark Frederiksen, President of MicroBurst, Inc.

MicroBurst, Inc. is actively developing Windows CE based applications for messaging, personal/corporate productivity, and entertainment uses.

"Heretofore, MicroBurst has developed for other handheld platforms. By comparison, Windows CE reduces the critical time-to-market through its use of standard, high-productivity, development tools. From a user's perspective, Windows CE will reach a 'critical mass' of must-have applications sooner, filling user needs that still remain unmet in other handheld platforms," said Mr. Frederiksen.

Windows CE provides a convergence between hardware and peripheral manufacturers, software developers, and end users, allowing each to build upon their respective Windows based experiences. MicroBurst's existing Windows based application source-code, tool experience, and internationalization capability all serve to hasten the creation and deployment of its Windows CE applications. MicroBurst is proud to be a member of the growing infrastructure that will hasten the quick and lasting adoption of Windows CE worldwide.

MicroBurst, Inc. develops Windows based and handheld applications for the domestic North-American market as well as for European and Asian markets. Its applications have sold over 12.5 million copies in 16 different languages, including handheld device connections to LAN E-mail systems, Windows clipboard and file format conversions, desktop integrated applications, and games.

Microsoft and Windows are either registered trademarks or trademarks of Microsoft Corp. in the United States of America and/or other countries.
