Nettech Systems Announced InstantRF Family of Wireless Connectivity Tools Support Microsoft Windows CE
LAS VEGAS — November 25, 1996 — Nettech Systems today announced that its InstantRF(R) family of wireless connectivity tools support the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE operating system platform. By making it easy for Windows CE-based applications to communicate over mobile networks, InstantRF is the perfect complement to Microsoft's new compact, portable and scalable operating platform for handheld PC devices.
Nettech's InstantRF is wireless middleware that is ideal for software developers who require reliable and efficient connectivity tools for building "enterprise-strength" mobile applications. Built from the outset as a "radio- smart," bandwidth-efficient architecture for mobile communications, InstantRF blends simple wireless-aware APIs with an agent-based gateway architecture to provide mobile workers with immediate access to corporate information.
"Microsoft Corporation's introduction of the Windows CE platform solves two key issues for mobile computing: compatibility and portability," said Boris Fridman, President of Nettech Systems. "By introducing InstantRF for Windows CE, we ensure that developers of mobile applications can take full advantage of the widest array of wireless networking options using Windows CE."
"We are excited that Nettech's InstantRF wireless middleware supports Windows CE, which can extend the handheld PC architecture into the realm of interactive wireless computing," said Jon Magill, director of marketing, consumer appliances group at Microsoft. "Their plans to release InstantRF will help expand the new category for handheld PCs."
Wynd Communications and Nettech are demonstrating their joint solution in Wynd's booth at COMDEX. "By working with the leading provider of wireless middleware we are able to rapidly deliver a version of WyndMail for Windows CE," said Bob Kimball, Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Marketing, Wynd Communications.
