PC World Announces 1995 World Class Awards honoring Top PC Products

SAN FRANCISCO — June 15, 1995 — PC World, the world's leading monthly PC publication, today announced the winners of the magazines' 13th annual World Class Awards.

The World Class Awards feature PC products that have been judged "Best in Category" based on a combination of innovation, performance and value. The World Class Award winners were selected by a diverse panel of PC experts, including analysts, user group presidents, consultants, value-added resellers, corporate and government computer buyers and PC World editors and readers. IBM's OS/2 Warp 3.0 was selected as the 1995 Corporate Product of the Year, and products from Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft led the balloting in the hardware and software categories with five and 12 "wins" respectively.

"The independent methodology used in determining the World Class Awards makes them more relevant than ever to the user community," said Phil Lemmons, PC World editor in chief. "Our diverse panel of industry experts provides our readers with a more timely and objective analysis of the PC marketplace. We expect the results of this year's awards to help consumers make more informed PC product buying decisions."
