FREMONT, Calif. — August 2, 1994 — PenRight! Corp. Tuesday announced that Casio, Compaq, Epson, Kalidor, Norand, and TelePad now support the Pen Right! operating environment on their pen-based computer products. Supporting the PenRight! environment enables these vendors access to the 1000+ PenRight! Pro applications designed specifically for vertical industries such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, public safety, transportation, utilities and consumer goods. "Hardware vendors understand that by supporting PenRight!'s operating environment they have immediate access to the hottest segment in pen computing today, the vertical applications market," said Mike Hulthen, president of PenRight!.
"PenRight!'s community of developers are seasoned veterans with a vast knowledge of what makes a mobile application a success." PenRight!'s efficient MS-DOS based graphical user interface and handwriting recognition environment is now available on nearly all pen platforms on the market today. As a result of its low software overhead, PenRight! Pro designed applications can run on everything from small 8086 handhelds and PDAs to powerful 486 convertible pen-tablets. The PenRight! operating environment can now run on Casio's Z-7000, the Compaq Concerto, Epson's EHT-30, Kalidor's K2000, Norand's PEN KEY, and TelePad's TelePad SL.
Developers now have the flexibility to port their applications to a full range of platforms designed for every situation from office automation to rugged field use.
"Making available the widest choice of hardware platforms to our community of PenRight! developers remains a main focus of our marketing team," added Hulthen.
The widely used PenRight! Pro software development kit was specifically designed for rapid development of mobile applications. PenRight! Pro's visually based development tools DesignForm, CodeStart, and PenResource allow developers to interactively design, customize and test their vertical applications. PenRight! Pro also supplies powerful development libraries for user interface design, data manipulation, database integration and standard data communications capabilities. The C-based, PenRight!
