Philip Sassower Appointed Chairman of CIC’s Executive Committee
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. — March 18, 1997 — Communication Intelligence Corp. (NASDAQ:CICI) announced today that Philip Sassower, a member of CIC's board of directors since 1994 and chairman of its finance committee, has been appointed as chairman of the company's newly formed executive committee.
Other committee members are James Dao and C.B. Sung.
Sassower graduated from Queens College of New York and the Harvard Law School. He began his career at Oppenheimer and Co. and later founded Sassower, Jacobs and Schneider, a member of the NYSE.
Sassower was formerly president, CEO and principal shareholder of Bates Manufacturing Co. Inc., a NYSE listed company with holdings in textiles and coal, and formerly chairman of the board and chairman of the executive committee of Newpark Resources, a NYSE listed company. Sassower is currently the general partner of CIC Standby Ventures L.P., a limited partnership that holds approximately 23 percent of CIC's common stock.
