Puma Technology Endorses Microsoft Windows CE Platform for Handheld PCs
SAN JOSE, Calif. — September 16, 1996 — Puma Technology, the leading producer of mobile data exchange and content aware synchronization software solutions, announced today support of the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE platform for handheld PCs. This platform is an open standard, Windows platform for PC-synchronized consumer electronics devices. Modeled after Windows 95, Windows CE will be the first handheld computing platform to integrate Windows-related technologies from various software developers and hardware manufacturers. The large installed base of mobile computer workers using Windows-based personal computers will soon have an array of CE-enabled handheld devices from which to choose.
Puma's support of the Microsoft platform paves the way for the company to incorporate its data synchronization software into future devices based on the Windows CE platform. Puma's data synchronization software solution will become available as handheld devices built on the forthcoming Microsoft platform reach market.
