Puma Technology Wins Stellar Award from Windows Sources Magazine

SAN JOSE, Calif. — July 1, 1997 — Puma Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:PUMA), the leading provider of Mobile Data Exchange software has received the prestigious Stellar award from Windows Sources Magazine for its popular IntelliSync for Windows CE software.

In the July issue of Windows Sources Magazine, editors noted that IntelliSync for Windows CE "worked like a charm" and "transferred data quickly and flawlessly in a single step — even in the case of repeating events." The article went on to say that Puma's IntelliSync for Windows CE "makes it easy for you to use your CE device with the desktop applications your data already resides in."

The Stellar award is the Windows Sources Magazine award honoring product innovation and excellence. To earn the Stellar award, the technology must demonstrate innovation and excellence in certain categories during the course of a hands-on evaluation including technology, design, performance, functionality and value. The reviewers of IntelliSync for Windows CE performed a series of tasks designed to reflect the real-world usage of the product in order to see how it completed tasks, presented its ease-of-use, and how well it compared to competing software products. IntelliSync for Windows CE exceeded reviewers expectations and was presented the Stellar award.

"Puma is proud to be recognized by Windows Sources," said Steve Magidson, vice president of marketing for Puma Technology. "This award further validates Puma's cutting edge synchronization technology and our commitment to offer truly innovative and full featured products to mobile professionals."

With IntelliSync for Windows CE, users of Windows CE-based handheld devices are able to synchronize significantly more data between the handheld device, desktop computers and a spectrum of disparate database applications such as personal information management (PIM) software and scheduling/contact applications. IntelliSync for Windows CE allows users of Microsoft Outlook '97 and Schedule+, Lotus Organizer, GoldMine, NetManage ECCO, DayTimer Organizer, Starfish Sidekick and other popular applications to automatically synchronize the data between these individual applications and their Windows CE device.

The IntelliSync family, which currently includes IntelliSync for Windows CE, PalmPilot, HP 200LX, and Sharp Mobile Organizer, represents a significant forward move in mobile data exchange. IntelliSync bridges the gap between the multitude of handheld devices on the market and the users PC by providing content-aware data synchronization. IntelliSync is available at computer retail stores nationwide, directly from Puma, or from Puma's website at www.pumatech.com for $ 69.95.
