RadioMail Corporation Introduces Wireless Internet Access for Microsoft’s Windows CE Platform

LAS VEGAS — November 18, 1996 — Today at COMDEX, RadioMail Corporation demonstrated the first multi-network wireless Internet access application for the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE platform.

RadioMail for Windows CE is designed to extend Internet applications over wireless networks including ARDIS, RAM, Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD), Cellular, GSM, and PCS. Over the next several months, RadioMail for Windows CE will be certified on a variety of handheld PCs, including products from Casio, Compaq, LG Electronics, NEC and Phillips.

RadioMail for Windows CE includes an integrated two-way wireless email application for mobile Internet communications. Full-length Internet email messages can be sent and received, over the air. Wireless workgroup messaging is also available for communications between members of a mobile staff. Other wireless features include faxing, paging, access to stock quotes and news, and access to any web site on the world wide web. RadioMail is available starting at $ 19.95 per month.

"We expect the need for wireless Internet extensions to drive the consumer demand for this new platform," said Mark Elderkin, director of marketing at RadioMail. "Since our wireless Internet application is network independent, we are able to offer Microsoft CE hardware manufacturers and their customers a universal application for their new handheld PCs."

"RadioMail is a valuable add-on application to the Windows CE platform," said John Magill, director of marketing, consumer appliances group at Microsoft. "For those mobile professionals that rely on the Internet for their business communications, the Windows CE platform with RadioMail will be an important business tool."

RadioMail Corporation has several wireless Internet service plans. On the ARDIS network, the RadioMail service is available bundled with the Personal Messenger PM-100D from Motorola and 100,000 characters of usage for $ 79.95 per month.
