SkyTel Announces Support for Microsoft Windows CE Computing Platform

JACKSON, Miss. — September 16, 1996 — SkyTel(R) announced today that the company will support the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE platform, the only open, standard, portable and compact Windows platform for PC-integrated consumer electronics.

SkyTel is planning to offer consumers unprecedented convenience and portability for exchanging wireless messages with Internet users and other SkyTel pager users.

SkyTel 2-Way is the most effective two-way paging and wireless messaging service for users to send and receive brief text messages anytime from a compact, portable device. SkyTel began working early on with Microsoft and its handheld PC hardware manufacturing partners and plans to deliver software and messaging services for the new Windows CE computing platform.
