Sony Magic Link Wins 1995 PC World Award
SAN JOSE, Calif. — June 23, 1995 — Sony's Magic Link(TM) communicator continues to win acclaim as a world class advancement in personal communications PC World — a premier publication that covers personal computing — is the latest to recognize Sony's leadership position by naming the Magic Link communicator a 1995 PC World World Class Award Winner for the Best PDA (Personal Digital Assistant). Alex Gruzen, Director of Product Marketing for Sony's Personal Information Company, received the award at a ceremony this week in New York.
The PC World contest is highly regarded among high technology magazine award programs because it asks an unbiased expert panel to identify the best products available in 67 categories of hardware, software and service & support. "The World Class Award is an endorsement of a product by the people who use it," said PC World President, Publisher and COO, Richard Marino. This year marks the 13th annual contest for the prestigious award.
The portable Magic Link communicator is the first product based on General Magic's Magic Cap(TM) platform and Telescript(TM) technology, and the first product incorporating AT&T PersonaLink(SM) Services. The product offers a combination of intelligent messaging capabilities that integrate e-mail, fax, telephone, online services and nationwide paging with personal information management software.
